Scientific participation in the conference

In the name of the Scientific Committee of the ASPHER Annual Conference 2007, I wish to invite the researchers, teachers and politicians involved in Public Health education and services in Europe to send us their works. In this way, we can learn their various initiatives, practices and experiences which have taken place in their different occupations.

This Conference is a tremendous opportunity to exchange experiences, to analyze, review and debate the Public Health subjects that we are all involved in and which make up the basic pieces of this subject matter in Europe.

These works will be one of the pillars on which the Conference will be supported, in such a way that each of the proposals received will be placed within one of the three following subjects:

  • Health protection: essential dimensions, services and educational needs
  • Disease prevention: essential dimensions, services and educational needs
  • Health promotion: essential dimensions, services and educational needs

Each author or group of authors will be able to present an oral communication, or a poster to each subject category within the framework of a common presentation sessions (communication session). After the presentation of each contribution, a time will be allowed to exchange opinions and ideas. On the other hand, proposals to organize thematic workshops will also be admitted.

The proposals to participate in the Conference must reach the Scientific Committee over the web site through this link form, as an abstract, according to the characteristics detailed here. The deadline date to present abstracts is 29 June 2007.

After this deadline date, the Scientific Committee of this Conference will review only those works received electronically over the web site. The selection will be based on the following criteria:

  • How the work proposed relates to the subjects of the Conference
  • A methodology that suits the objectives proposed
  • A clear, quality abstract
  • An original proposal
  • The potential added value of the work

Although the authors must express their preference for the form their work is to be presented in, the Scientific Committee reserves the right to condition its admission to it being converted into some other form of presentation.

On 20 July 2007, the Scientific Committee will publish the list of approved works on the Conference web site and how these works are to be presented. Furthermore, this Committee will contact the authors by email to confirm that their works have been accepted and thank them for their collaboration.

Finally, in the name of the Scientific Committee, I wish to thank you all beforehand for your collaboration and encourage you to participate in this Conference which intends to be a place where all those who work in Europe for Public Health can meet.
